Synthena Pharmaceuticals Limited ("Synthena", "we", "us") is the controller of the personal information collected through this website. This notice describes how we handle personal information collected through this website, synthenapharma.com. Please read it carefully: it explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you give us. When you write to us through the contact form we receive what you type: your name, your email address, your organisation and role if you give them, and your message.

Information collected automatically. The company that hosts this website records, for security and operation, the kind of technical information every web server records: the address your request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser used. We do not add analytics, advertising or tracking code of our own, and this website sets no cookies of its own.

2. How do we use your information?

We use what you send us for one purpose: to answer you. If you ask to hear about open roles or new work, we keep your address for that and nothing else. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who do we share it with?

Your message travels through the services that run this website and our email: the hosting company that serves the pages and receives the form, and the mail provider that delivers your message to our inbox. Each acts on our instructions to deliver the message and for no other purpose. We share personal information with no one else, unless the law requires it.

4. Is your information transferred internationally?

Synthena is based in Hong Kong. The services that host this website and deliver email may process your information in other countries. Where that happens, it is protected by the safeguards those services are bound to under the laws that apply to them.

5. How long do we keep it?

We keep a message for as long as the conversation it started is open, and for up to two years afterwards so that we can answer a follow-up. Then we delete it. Server records kept by the hosting company are deleted on its own schedule, normally within a few weeks.

6. How do we keep it safe?

This website is served over HTTPS. Messages are held in company accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor sign-in, reachable only by the people who answer them. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable care.

7. Do we collect information from minors?

This website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Write to us through the contact form and we will answer within one month. If you are in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance gives you these rights in law, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. If you are elsewhere, the law of your country may give you the same rights, and we will honour them.

9. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change matters, we will say so on this page.
