Presenting the work, November 2025
Where the platform stood when we first presented it, and what has moved since.
In November 2025 we took the work behind Synthena to a scientific meeting for the first time. We showed PDRN made from plant and microbial sources and held within a defined range between 20 and 80 base pairs. This update records what we showed then and what has changed since, in the order we work.
1. The platform. We showed the three steps, extraction, purification and the step that brings the DNA to the defined range, each with our own procedure. Since then we have worked on making the third step repeat batch after batch, and on keeping each batch's characterisation with its history.
2. The material. We measure the fragment-length distribution and the purity of every batch. We begin tolerability testing with the first development batches and continue it as the material advances. The results stay with the batch, together with a retained sample.
3. The fields. We are studying the material in five fields, beginning with the skin. Dermatology is the most advanced programme and it is preclinical. The other four are in research. No programme has entered clinical trials, and no Synthena medicine has been approved for any indication.
4. The company. We founded Synthena Pharmaceuticals in July 2026, eight months after that first presentation, to carry the work forward. The next update will follow when the next batch has been characterised.

Synthena Pharmaceuticals Limited is a pharmaceutical company founded in Hong Kong in July 2026 and focused on one substance, PDRN. Its aim is to turn PDRN into medicines made without animal-derived sources, produced within a defined fragment-length range and studied across five fields of human biology. Its most advanced programme is preclinical; no Synthena medicine has entered clinical trials or been approved for any indication.
