Presenting the work, November 2025
An update on where the platform stood when it was first presented to a scientific audience, and what has moved since.

In November 2025 the work behind Synthena was presented at a scientific meeting for the first time: PDRN made from plant and microbial sources rather than animal tissue, held to a defined fragment-length range of 20 to 80 base pairs. This update records what was shown then and what has changed in the months since, in the order we work.
1. The platform. The three steps, extraction, purification and bringing the DNA to the defined range, were shown as a method with our own procedures around each. Since then the emphasis has been on making the third step repeat batch after batch, and on keeping every batch's characterisation with its history.
2. The material. Fragment-length distribution and purity are measured on every batch. Tolerability testing begins with the earliest development batches and continues as the material advances. The results stay with the batch, together with a retained sample.
3. The fields. Five fields of human biology, starting with the skin. Dermatology remains the most advanced programme and is preclinical. The other four are in research. No programme has entered clinical trials, and no Synthena medicine has been approved for any indication.
4. The company. Synthena Pharmaceuticals was founded in Hong Kong in July 2026, eight months after that first presentation, to carry the work forward as a pharmaceutical company focused on this one substance. The next update will follow in two months.
About Synthena Pharmaceuticals
Synthena Pharmaceuticals Limited is a pharmaceutical company founded in Hong Kong in July 2026 and focused on one substance, PDRN. Its aim is to turn PDRN into medicines made without animal-derived sources, produced within a defined fragment-length range and studied across five fields of human biology. Its most advanced programme is preclinical; no Synthena medicine has entered clinical trials or been approved for any indication.
This page describes research and development. It does not establish the safety or efficacy of any Synthena medicine.
