Why one substance

A company can spread itself across many molecules. We chose to know one well.

PDRN is a mixture of short DNA fragments. Every cell uses nucleotides, the building blocks of those fragments, to build and repair its own DNA. As PDRN breaks down, research suggests, its components can enter the pathways that recycle nucleotides. We built the company on that one idea.

Most PDRN in use comes from animal tissue, in fragments of many lengths. We wanted to know what changes when the source is plant or microbial and when the fragments are held to a defined range. We answer that by measuring the same material batch after batch and keeping every result with its history.

With one substance there is no second molecule to turn to when the first is difficult. When a result surprises us, we repeat it. When it holds, we enter it in the record with the date, the batch, the instrument and the operator.

We are studying this one material in five fields of human biology, starting from the skin. We state the stage each programme has reached. What we learn in one field holds in the others, because the material is the same, and that is the reason we stay with one substance.

Synthena Pharmaceuticals Limited is a pharmaceutical company founded in Hong Kong in July 2026 and focused on one substance, PDRN. Its aim is to turn PDRN into medicines made without animal-derived sources, produced within a defined fragment-length range and studied across five fields of human biology. Its most advanced programme is preclinical; no Synthena medicine has entered clinical trials or been approved for any indication.
